About Me

Hi and a warm welcome to my blog. My little place in the cyber crafting world. I'm Elaine and I'm 42 years old and married to the most amazing man I could wish for. My passion is all forms of crafting and I'm extremely lucky to be on the design teams for Leonie Pujol and Toni of Darroch at stamps by me limited . I also do a bit of demo work for stix2 anything and I love it. I've recently retrained after being made redundant to become a Teaching Assistant which is a very rewarding job. Well I hope you like what you see on my blog. I'm always grateful for people taking a peek and leaving messages x

First Hobbycutz Dt

Good Sunday morning everyone,
Today sees my first make as a Hobbycutz design team member! Super excited and glad to be part of such a talented team. So the theme for today is Recycle - we are sponsored by the lovely

I chose an image called Emily and she is just beautiful. I decided to recycle and alter an old notepad. I took the cover off and made my own front and back using green cardstock. I then distressed her slightly around the edges. Mounted it onto graphic 45 paper and added a Tim holtz pin, chit chat word and made 2 little banners. Last but not least some tiny flowers to try and mimic the ones she is holding. Hope you like my first make for Hobbycutz. I hope you will all join in over at the hobbycutz challenge blog ! Have a great weekend thanks for stopping by.

In craft heaven !

Well in craft heaven is exactly the place I was this afternoon ! It started in Coventry with a fab lunch with my crafting buddy Maria. Then on to the windmill hotel for an afternoon workshop with Mr craft himself Tim Holtz....... Wow wow wow did we have a good time. He is one of the nicest down to earth famous crafters I have met. The kit was fantastic, great organisation from personal impressions and some great free gifts. I cant fault it at all. The definite highlight of my craft life. I have attached a picture of the marvellous free gifts that we got which was a signed book, satchel bag and apron ! Not to mention distress pens, ink, stain and a paint and much more. A big thanks to all involved. Look closely you will see my finished book that we made. Thanks for stopping by. Take care

All things tim

Hello !
This evening I am feeling super excited as  lunchtime can only mean one thing - setting off for the workshop in Coventry with crafting legend Tim Holtz. Yes I can hardly believe the day is nearly here. I am going with my crafting bestie Maria. Who is just a tad bit excited also. So in preparation I decided to make a mess of the entire craft desk. This is what I came up with.
A wall hanger to take pride of place by my desk. I have made a masking tape background stamped with TH stamps, then distressed and covered with distress crackle , more ink and a spritz of perfect pearls. Stuck onto a piece of kraft card ( also distressed ). I used rafia to hang and added an idea-ology clip. Enough excited waffle from me , hope you like it. Thanks ever so much for looking xxx

Well enough of that tonights card is made using the same old wooden stamp as yesterday but I've done the card in purple and added liquid pearls, paper and a different punch. Again using the woodware edger. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking I always appreciate. Take care x

Wooden stamps...

And what have we here on this bank holiday - glorious sunshine ! And I was at work for most of the day. But Im still going to have some craft time. Here is a card made using an old wooden stamp. I love it and to be honest I haven't used it as much as I should have ( story of every crafters life ). I have stamped in sepia versafine, cut using scalloped oval nesties. Ribbon and paper from docrafts but I have edged it using the woodware edger punch. Hope you like it and enjoy the rest of the bank hol xxx

Spooky wall hanger.

Todays make is a spooky wooden wall hanger, I covered the wood with black gesso, left it overnight to dry and then used graphic 45 steampunk spells paper and embellies to decorate it. I think I might spritz it with some perfect pearls as it needs a bit of shine. Well thats all for now. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by xx

Distress inks !

Good evening,
Tonight I am sharing a card that I made tonight except I did not colour in the image. A young man named Craig who works for me did. I held my charity day yesterday to raise money to help the Emberson family, so they can donate to Ronald McDonald house for the support they have had in camberwell. So I gave a little lesson in colouring with Tim Holtz distress inks..... And he was a natural . Better than me !!!! He gave the saturated canary image called Autumn blond hair like his girlfriend. So I said I would make it into a card to send her. I think it has turned out really well. I think I shall pass more images to him to colour. Thanks for looking have a great evening xx

Creating a background

Today has been a lovely day. Managed to get plenty of things done including the gym, housework and packaging up loads of cards, ready for the charity day that I am doing to help Christine Emberson raise funds for Ronald McDonald house. Fingers crossed it will do well. So onto todays card. I stamped my script stamp and then distressed it. I then over stamped using one of my favourite Kanban stamps. Used a couple of chit chat words and punched butterflies. Hope everyone has had a great weekend. Thanks so much for looking x

2 for 1

Good evening fellow crafters, where has the week gone ! I managed to squeeze in making 2 cards in my lunch break today
( haven't had much crafty time this week). They are quite clean and simple. I have used stamping up card stock to make the base and the bloomin marvellous stamp set. Its a really nice set to play with. Hope you like it. Have a great weekend. I intend to have at least half a day crafting. Take care xx

Hi , today sees the start of another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu. Today is the turn of the purple team. The theme - anything for teacher. My card is an old wooden stamp of a lady playing the piano ! Reminds me of my music teacher.
Ive used distress inks to colour it. Really enjoyed this theme. Hope you like it and don't forget to pop over and see all the inspiration from my lovely teamies.
